Duncan has been interested in aviation since he was a small boy, growing up close to former RAF Canewdon and Southend Airport, watching Vickers Viscounts, Handley Page Heralds and Short Belfasts flying over his house.
Like a lot of youngsters Duncan was an Air Cadet and took every opportunity to fly in Chipmunks and Gliders.
With an interest in all things Cold War Duncan has also had the opportunity to visit a number of RAF/MOD sites past and present to visit the Bunkers on site along with Government and local authority Emergency control facilities.
Duncan has been a self employed handyman and gardener for a number of years .
Danny's interest in aviation began in the early eighties. He remembers his dad taking him to London for the Falklands flypast in 1982 and it just grew on him from there. His first experience of actually flying was on a British Air Ferries Vickers viscount from Southend airport for a Santa flight.
Danny has also had a fair few flying lessons across the years but family commitments have stifled his attempts to gain a PPL (for now!!).
In his spare time he enjoys spending time with the kids and visiting air bases and airports. Danny was lucky enough to have an ‘access all areas’ at both RAF Scampton and RAF Marham when visiting.
Danny has been a postman for 23 years, which he thoroughly enjoys and that helps us with our movement of spares around the country.
Beja has been interested in aircraft, both modern and classic, throughout her adult life. Possibly drawn from discovering her grandfather was an engineer for Spitfires in the second world war but also her passion for travel. Beja's background includes organising large and small events in her role as a project manager for East Sussex county council as well as for various charities over the years. Beja juggles commitments of a large family with supporting Civil Aviation Trust since becoming involved in the spring of 2024
Pete was into model aeroplanes as a child and still is. Pete started his working life cleaning cars and aeroplanes to pay for his flying lessons.
When Pete obtained his commercial licence he flew newspapers (before the internet) and transplant organs around to build his hours.
Pete then borrowed money to self-fund his Boeing 757 type rating in 1994. His first airline was Ambassador, until it went bust in 1995. They still owe him some wages.
Pete was out of work for a short time and then joined Air 2000 and was flying once again the Boeing 757’s from Manchester and Gatwick.
Pete was then loaned out to Air Europe Italia and the Boeing 767 in 1996. He joined British Airways in 1997 on the Boeing 747-400. And then took command on Boeing 777’s.
Pete is still flying today on the corporate Falcon 2000 and the Boeing 777.
There has never been a time when Clive was not interested in aviation. Some may say 'from the cradle'.
In 1972 Clive went to Oxford Air Training School to gain his commercial license. As luck would have it, Clive and Peter Harris were on the same course. Clive went on to fly DH114 Herons, Handley Page Dart Heralds, the Vickers Viscount, Fokker F27-ATP, DC9,15 & 32 series and the Boeing 737-300, 400 & 500.
Jon has been into aviation from as far back as he can remember having lived only 20 mins from Gatwick Airport form childhood to early adulthood and even now only an hour away, and used to go up to the airport whenever he could to watch the aeroplanes.
He always wanted to work in travel which he managed to in various capabilities ie travel agent and passenger service agent and he also worked for a company that booked people straight off their flights and needed accommodation of various levels. Eventually Jon managed to get his dream job as cabin crew before his son was born.
Outside of aviation his main passion is playing and watching football. Jon is a huge Leeds United fan, a bit of a weather geek and loves music. Jon always enjoys a good banter.
